AUDITION TECHNIQUE/MONOLOGUE & SONG CHOICE/SCENE STUDY & IMPROVISATION
Focus of the class will be on Audition Technique,Monologue work and Song choice, Scene Study and Improvisation. At the end of the session you will have one song and one monologue that you’ve been coached on and able to use for auditioning purposes.
Monologues – every actor needs to have several monologues to choose from, depending on what type of show he or she is auditioning for. Practice Audition Techniques, Manage Stage-Fright, and Perform for an Audience.
Acting Through Song!
Chose the right song to sing – learn what your musical range is and how to sing a song and tell the story of the song. Learn the Mechanics of Singing: Breath Support, Breath Placement, Positioning of the Tongue, Mouth, Palate, and Ear-Training. Choose and prepare audition songs that showcase your voice. Gain confidence and have fun. Learn to add meaning to your singing and give authentic performances. Throughout the class, emphasis will be on understanding the importance of lyrics and working on connecting those lyrics to the music using a variety of acting techniques.
The end of your 10 week session will culminate in a showcase for your friends and family. This gives you the opportunity to show off your new skills in a relaxed and supportive environment.
