Expired Acting Class with Play Performance – Spring: Tuesday
-
February 5, 2019 - May 21, 2019
4:15 pm - 5:15 pm
Grades 3-5
(no class Apr. 16)
This class is designed to introduce actors to specific techniques that develop their mind, voice and body for a confident and honest performance before a live audience. Improvisation and scripted scene study provide fluency in the acting fundamentals of conflict, action and given circumstances. As collaboration is essential to the creation of live theatre, students will develop social skills required to find creative solutions for problems as a member of a team, to confidently give voice to original ideas and grow in respect of the ideas of others. Actors will be given roles, scripts and will need to memorize their lines for our performance (this is not a musical). Parent observation day will be during the last class of the session, where we will perform a play.
All class sizes are small to insure a safe & nurturing environment. This allows students to explore more freely as well as to receive individual attention. All classes consist of improvisation games, scene study, movement, technique, character development, audition preparation, voice and diction and an opportunity to build self-confidence!
